Print Server problem with MSI RG54GS2 router

Hi,
I have had the same problem with 2 units and 2 different printers, on
WInXP pro systems:
I configured the printer port exactly as described in the manual (pp
53-56).
When I connect the printers (HP Deskjet 930 or Xerox 3121), the router
confers that the printer is ready, but when I send a page to the
printer , it does'nt print. Checking in the printer window there is
always the same message "Printing - printer busy or error"
Any ideas?

Print Servers aren't really covered here...

However, why aren't you using RAW TCP port 9100 ?

Otherwise do the smart thing and get a HP internal or external JetDirect Print Server.

you are using a wrong queue name....
the wright name is "lp" the first letter is a small L and not an i....
change it and it will work out........

This seems like an awefully expensive solution. Surely there's something for
under a hundred bucks that works OK, no?

Hey eross,

I had the same problem. You can try this:

Make sure "Use printer Offline" is *_not_* ticked in the printe
control panel in windows.

This should make it print.

Otherwise, also:

First I used the Windows XP to connect to the router.
Go to Windows firewall in control panel.
Click on "Advanced" tab.
Next to the "Network Connection Settings" click settings.
Click "Add."
Give the service a name (like printer or deskjet printer)
Put in the IP address given by the manual
Put in the port number that's grayed out (515 or whatever is there), i
both internal and external.
Make sure TC P radio button is selected.
Click OK and you're done.

If the previous posts didn't work, (I had lp and still didn't work)
try this.

It could be as simple as making sure "Use offline" is not ticked.
