anyone know what could cause a power outage to cause a dell 5324 switch
to lose port mirroring configuration? Everything else in the config
stayed fine, but just port mirorring got erased, this is necessary for
pix firewall websense integration to function properly.

I'm not sure what could have caused just a portion of the config to be
hosed. But to tell you, power fluctuations and other problems can cause
numerous issues, some are very unpredictable. They're electronic devices and
prone to power surges. I've seen some stuff that you wouldn't believe with
power issues. In many cases, I always try to convince my clients to get a
good UPS to protect their systems. Unfortunately, some don't.

Did you backup the config on your switch and PIX? The Dell 5324's do have
that funtionality, if I remember correctly. I usually like backup the config
locally as well as email it to myself or post it to our configuration
website so we always have a config of all our customers' equipment.
