After a power outage, it would be best to disconnect the modem (not router)
from the power, let it sit a minute or two and then plug it back in. Once
it syncs with your ISP, then power up the router. The modem needs to talk
with its source first, establish the connection, and then will be able to
pass that information along to the router.
