I just wonder, if it would be possible to temporarily disable the the tcp/ip
stack for a pre-determined time? My goal is to basically disable all (IP)
network communication for a certain time, lets say for 2 hours. After that it
should reactivate.

Is that possible with some vbscript, maybe with some netsh commands ? Or is
there a better way to temporarily disable all network in a programatically
way ?

You could disable the NIC for a period of time with VBScript.

If I were you, I would post to the microsoft.public.scripting.vbscript for
more specific help. For your convenience, I cross-posted this to that group
and this group with follow-ups set to come back to both simultaneously so
you would only have to check this group for responses. I'm sure one of those
folks can better help out.

Hi,

so what goal are you really trying to solve. You are making a very specific
request that might be served by a different request.

Yes, I am aware of that I can disable an individual nic, but I am more
looking for a solution that basically shuts down all internet access, wheter
it is on a wired or wireless nic. And it has to work in different hardware
and OS, mostly XP and Vista.

Any idea for this?
