I'm trying to go wireless.
I recently went bt broadband using voyager 105 modem.

More recently I aquired a belkin router fsd7230-4.

The router has ethernet ports and cables and my laptop has only
usb ports and the modem has only usb port(typeB I think).

To install and set up router I need to hard wire it to
laptop and modem.

The modem is powered from the laptop usb.
Are there ethernet to usb type A , and ethernet to usb type A cables
available.

Should I use ethernet/usb adapters ( will they forward the power to the
modem) or go the cable way.

Hope someone can help

after I set up router I have a notebook wireless card also

No (or at least not at a civilised price that I've seen)

You would need either a modem with an ethernet port or a router with built
in ADSL modem.

I'd recommend selling your current router and buying an all in one unit.
Much easier in the long run and shouldn't cost you much

no. That would be like connecting your gas and water suplies together
with a piece of pipe.

To use a USB modem and an ethernet router you would have to use
Internet Connection Sharing on the PC to route from ethernet to the
USB modem. Not pretty.

The Belkin has an "access point"mode which would be slightly less
messy but still needs the above config.

You could get a Voyager 205 or a Zoom X3 off Ebay or a cheap ebuyer
ethernet modem/router instead.

You can't.

an ethernet modem will have a power supply.

you can get a USB ethernet network dongle if the laptop doesn't have
ethernet, it won't power the modem.
