Port forwarding on SQL Server

Hi,

I am trying to set up port forwarding to my SQL Server 7 box (NT 4) so I
can remove its external IP. I can access SQL Server on that box via the
internal IP and its current external IP, but not via port forwarding.

I set up a routing record this way:

IP 192.168.100.22 (SQL Server box)
Protocol Type TCP
Private Port 1433
Public Port 1433
Schedule Always

Trying to connect to our router's IP on that port will cause a time out.

I have tried exactly the same settings with a windows 2000 machine as our
SQL Server and it worked like a charm via port forwarding. This leads me
to believe that there is some configuration issue on the NT box, but if
that is true, how am I able to connect with the internal and external IPs
belonging to that machine? So THAT leads me to believe that there is some
configuration issue with SQL Server on that machine that is not right.
Can someone help me?

Thanks,
Andrew
