I currently have a Netgear DG814 (with which I am very pleased) providing ADSL access to 3
wired PCs. I have allocated private IP addresses to the 3 PCs so that I can utilise Port
Forwarding, and all is well.

However, I am now thinking of purchasing a wireless access point (Netgear ME102) plus
associated equipment so that I can wirelessly connect 2 new laptops.

Do I allocate a private IP address to the WAP, and/or to the 2 wireless laptops so that I
can implement port forwarding ??

thanks in anticipation

Steve B.

Yes to all three,

The access point needs an address for administrration and the two
laptops need addresses just like hard wired PC's.
And they all need to be in the same range and subnet, so they can all
converse.
