Yes, I'm using Outlook and have for years.
And your post came up beautifully in red. : - )
But am I wrong ( about the search feature) ? . . .
What I was trying to say is that Outlook only searches for text in
downloaded messages, not the ones that haven't been downloaded yet.
What this means is that in order to search this newsgroup for the answer to
my previous question about H.323; I would be required to first open (in
order to download) all 1476 messages in the group.
Maybe I'm still not being clear . . . It's easy to search subjects in
Outlook but not the text in message bodies unless they've been previously
opened.
Hence, as subjects often don't contain or describe their contents very well
it is difficult to search a whole newsgroup at once for a reference to a
rather obscure item.
If there is a workaround I'd love to hear about it as I've often been faced
with exactly this problem.
I used to belong to a Jaguar mailing list and would spend hours chasing down
ephemera.
