Port 80 filtered - cannot access IIS website

Hello all,

I have a website running in IIS in Windows Server 2003. I cannot access
it from the outside. When I run nmap on the IP address of the server,
port 80 shows up as "filtered." I cannot find any setting in Windows
that would be causing this (ie filtering under network properties,
firewall [no software firewall is installed]). I am told that there is
no hardware at the server's location that would be causing this (like
an external router).

Is there anything else that can be the problem? The only idea I have at
this point is that maybe the ISP doesn't allow incoming traffic on port
80. If I change the website's port to nearly anything else, it works
from the outside.

Thank you!

Nevermind - I finally got in touch with the ISP (Adelphia) and they
said they block all inbound traffic on port 80, so that was the cause.

If you're interested you can get around this by configuring the web server to
listen on another port, open the port on your firewall and then use a dynamic
DNS provided redirection like "webhop" by dyndns.

Just make sure that you're not breaking your end user agreement with your
ISP about running servers on their network. If they find out you are they may
terminate your service.
