Environment:
Windows 2003 SBS server
AD / DNS configured
TCP/IP - one network (no subnets internal routing etc.)

Workstations: XP Pro, mapped drives to the Server

2 - SMC 10/100 switches

Problem:
Accessign the network drives is slow.
Opening file from the net. drives can be very slooooow.

Temp solution:
I added IPX and Netbeiu as network protocals.
It helped, but I feel this should be necessary.

Any ideas anyone?

Thank you in advance

Have you tried using Network Monitor to view performance criteria on your
network segments? Are any other network operations, such as user logon,
suffering from slow performance? Hoping I can help.....Duke

Temporarily disable any real-time anti-virus software to see if that helps,
and if it does, re-configure your AV settings to something more appropriate
for your environment.
