I have a Phone-Line Network in my home. We have 2 PC's, and 2 Laptops
all with PNA connections. Our cable modem is connected to a Linksys
Phoneline 10M Router (HPRO200), and from the router to the phone jack.

I want to buy a mini-PCI Wifi card for my laptop, so I don't need any
wires. Besides the wifi card, what would I need to buy, just to allow
acces for my computer wirelessly?
(I am thinking something along the lines of an antenna plugged into
the router, so I dont have to share the speed with the other PNA
computers.. ?)

A suggestion:

Modem to PNA router. PNA router to a Wireless Access Point. PNA router to
whatever computers close enough to get wired. Those not close enough will
either go PNA or wireless.

You have my exact set up. Go buy a Linksys WAP11 (access point) and a PC
card (PC54G). Power everything down. Then plug in the WAP11 to the
HPRO200's LAN port. Now power up the HPRO. Now power up the WAP. Install
the PC card in your laptop. Once the PC card is up and running all should
be well. To finish the setup you do not need the disk for the access point,
just type in its URL 192.168.1.251 from a wired PC and set up security. It
took me 10 minutes to get everything up and running. At Best Buy the WAP11
was $70 the card was about the same. I got the G card because we have G at
my office. I don't need G speeds at home so the WAP11 was good enough.
Anyway Best buy did not have a G access point in stock.

sounds good, but I have one more question-

my cable modem and router are in the basement - what if i want to put
my access point on the first floor of my house? is that possible to
do? (maybe plug some kind of devide from Phone-Line to WAP?)

thanks!

You have options

1. Run an ethernet cable across the floor.

2. Share bandwidth with PNA: Plug WAP into the PNA

3. Buy two "Powerline" bridges and connect the router and the WAP with them.

You could run a length of cat 5 cable from the router to the AP. But give
it a try with the AP near the router before you go stringing cable. My AP
reaches from my 2nd floor to the corner of my basement behind a cinder block
wall with a "fair" signal strength. The reverse may be true if you point
the antennas up a bit.
Another thing you can try is moving the cable modem/router/AP upstairs.
Don't forget every cable outlet in the house can be hooked up to the modem.
You can control the router and the AP from any phoneline in the house. The
physical proximity of the two doesn't matter as long as you have a computer
wired from a phone line to the router. Its just easier to watch the lights
blink if you have them near a computer.
