Can anyone tell me what plusnet are like when it comes to billing, for
example if i want to subscribe to their £21.99 a month unlimited
package do they get it right or do they sometimes overcharge?

What sort of payments do they take when you sign up with them will
they take a direct debit for your setup fee and first months
subscription? and what about your monthly subscription from then on
can that be paid for via direct debit or is it credit card only?

If they do take direct debit do you have that option when signing up
online.

Thanks in advance

du.

They usually get it right but no organisation is perfect.

All can be done by DD online.

It might be slightly quicker if you paid the setup another way but only a
day or two.

For me, they've been fine.

It can all be paid on credit card.

That I can't remember. Probably not as ISTR that it's a banking
requirement to have a written signature on the DD form.

Not required any more.

You can pay the whole lot - setup + monthly subs - by DD. I did this, and
(so far!) they have always got it right.

Be warned though that it can take them a *long* time - like a week or more -
to recognise that a DD authority has been accepted by your bank - and they
won't move until this happens. If you're in a hurry, it's better to pay the
setup fees by credit card.

In article <(E-Mail Removed)>, (E-Mail Removed), a.k.a
says...

> Can anyone tell me what plusnet are like when it comes to billing ...

I've had no issues, although i have 2 clients who have.

With the subscriber base Plusnet have, there are bound to be one or two
mistakes now and then.

The biggest problem, i think you'll find, is how good Plusnet /aren't/
at sorting it out, particularly if the day of the week you complain
happens to end in a "Y" ...

:-/

Although no doubt, again, there are those who will say they sorted the
problems out just fine.

As with any big organisations, if you are indisputablyy right, and they
are wrong, you will usually have to jump through a few hoops first
before it gets resolved.

Although im not a plusnet user from what I have read they dont seem to get
it wrong very often, however have a look at the thread titled...
Customer of PlusNet plc (http://www.plus.net)
in here, its not a billing problem as such, more of an annoyance for the
poster, but worth reading.

You pay monthly in advance, so the first payment becomes due as soon as they
have confirmed to you that the line has been activated - or as soon as you
start using it if you discover that it has been activated before they tell
you.

Agreed, they do suggest, if asked, that the setup is on a card as
suggested. One problem I had was the wrong data allowance was taken
from the website (I asked for 2Gb and all later references were to 1Gb),
the other was a stray 'billing request' for the first months sub as
well as the DD. Both were sorted manually before any harm was done, and
as long as I ignored the billing request not a lot was going to happen.
