Plusnet slag off other companies

I left Plusnet 6 weeks ago and found today they billed me again.

Phoned up this evening to get a refund which they did, but I had the most
bizarre conversation with the person.

It went something along the lines of - I mentioned that I moved to Sky as
its cheaper. The person then said "cheaper is not necessarily better, with
a bad service you would also have to deal with those Indian call centres"

I really find this quite bizarre. I don't expect a monologue from someone
to judge how my current service is especially given Plusnets own recent
track record of customer service.

Sky might be interested in your comments, but at the end of
the day it's just a case of he said she said.

You might have got a loyal employee there, either that or they
have shares or something!

When I requested my MAC someone phoned me back and did similar, also
described the problems of going with Sky.

The amusing thing was he pretty much described PlusNet. However, he did
offer me two months free, which I accepted. And not being one to turn
down free things I took his offer and put of migrating a couple of
months. (reminds me must contact them again soon for a MAC!)

Yeah I think some people can be loyal, but thats a bit extreme.
Are Skys customer support in India? I am sure when I have called I have
spoken to a Scottish person each time.

I've always had a Scottish person as well.

People also go on about long time periods waiting for support from Sky
as well, however I emailed them on Good Friday at 4:15pm, at 4:25pm the
same day they called me back......

Hope they didn't tie you to a new 12 month contract for the freebie

There was nothing to suggest that which is why I accepted it.

It seemed like he was desperate to get me to stay at least until the new
products (although i'd never go near any of them) were announced, even
offered that if I had any problems I could phone them, ask to speak to
him (or leave a message if he's not there) and he'd sort it out personally!

Just watch out for it all the same, I was in a similar position with Pipex and
was absolutely offered 2 free months with no tie-in on the phone which
miraculously became a 12mth extension when I asked for my MAC. They
rolled after a few well worded emails and a request for the phone call
recordings.

Hey, I had to phone Plusnet around 4am just to be able to talk to a real person
!

Otherwise you could hold on the line 'forever'.
