Hi, I've just moved house, looking to set up a new broadband account
and am tempted by the mostly favourable opinion of PlusNet. No way am I
going back to BT Openworld.
I'm also interested in the PlusNet wireless router offer - the one that
includes 1 wireless router, 1 pci wireless card for a desktop pc and 1
wireless card for a laptop. Only thing is, I can't see anything on the
PlusNet website about what makes or models of hardware they are
offering, so I can't work out if it is good kit or if the offer is good
value. Anyone have any further knowledge/experience on this?
And another question while I'm at it - might be slightly off-topic: the
computers we have in the house are 1 desktop PC, 1 laptop PC and 1
airport-enabled ibook. Will I have any problems getting the ibook to
speak to the router? And will it be possible to set up a wireless LAN
to get the PCs and the ibook to speak to each other? Or will I need any
extra hardware?
One further question: BT seem to think there might be a DACS box on the
line. How good are PlusNet at getting BT to remove these infernal
things? (I've heard stories about some otherwise highly rated ISPs
having problems dealing with DACS boxes.)
thanks in advance for any answers/advice.
