Plusnet Live Activation ?

Does anyone know when plusnet will get rid of the Line activation,

Just looking its about £58 for 12 month contract & £78 without

that's a bit steep as other internet providers do not charge anything and
I'm sure BT waved this cost why are they still charging this ?

BT charge ALL ISPs £50 plus VAT. Some choose to lose it in the monthly
charge.

Because they do not have a minimum term on their contracts.

Those who waive the charge without an apparent minimum term normally
say you will be required to pay the activation fee if you terminate in
the first 12 months.

There used to be just such an option with PlusNet but I'm not sure if they still
do it.

They used to have an alternative at slightly higher cost for the first 12
months. I suspect they've dropped it, it was rather confusing. They are also
concentrating on their new services.

Hi there,

As previously posted we still have activation charges, so we can keep
the monthly subscription as low as possible. It would not be fair to
existing customers if their monthly subscription covered the costs for
new starters.

The ISPs that do offer free activation have higher monthly
subscriptions and if you leave in the first 12 months you have to pay
for the activation.

We expect customers who sign up for an annual contract to honour the
12 months. The monthly contract, requires a 30 day cancellation
notice.

activation fee of 70 quid applies for < 12 month contracts
