Plusnet like treacle??

I'm having quite a significant slow-down with my 512k ADSL connection to
Plusnet. Several time-outs of web sites, and/or slow loading of others.

I run off a Draytek 2600 router which i've rebooted and reconfigured,
but the problem remains.

I can't even log into Plusnet's web portal to find the telephone number
to call or view the service status.

I know there were a few incidents at BT exchanges yesterday, but these
have been resolved AIUI?

Anyone else got issues with speed??

Hi there,

We have not had any reports of this nature and I have tested from our
internal test line and am having no problems. What sites are you having
problems accessing, so that I can investigate any possible issues at our
side.

That reminds me of a fault with another ISP, people kept complaining and
support kept testing and finding no fault, it was only after my suggestion
that the supervisor got his wife (or who ever) to try from outside the
company that he went and tried to access the problem areas from a non
company computer - he was most apologetic when he rang back !

Internal test lines don't always tell the truth...

Downstream 463 Kbps (57.9 KB/sec) 500 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 243 Kbps (30.4 KB/sec) 262 Kbps (inc. overheads)


Fine here using the same router.

This is a standard ADSL line into the office so testing on it is
equivelent to one of customers on ADSL trying it. Obviously some
problems do only affect people not connected through us and we do have a
few dialup accounts with other ISP's if necessary.
