As a result of the volume of work created for Customer Service staff by
problems resulting from "upgrade" to MaxDSL, Plusnet have taken the
decision to freeze their automatic upgrade process for existing customers
for at least the next two months. This does not apply to new customers -
they will still be put on MaxDSL. However, if you do still want to gain an
upgrade to a DSLMax service, they will still be offering this to people
that opt-in via the http://trials.plus.net site.

Seems logical to me. Many people do not know the speed they connect at or
even care. All they want is a stable connection, nippy connection to surf
the web and check emails.

I upgraded to 8Mb a few months back and honestly theres not that much
difference to 2Mb. Some downloads come down faster like microsoft updates
but I could of waited a few extra minutes to have them. I find the marginal
increase in upstream much more benfical than the 3x extra download speed.

Your dictionary's definition of "marginal" is different to mine.
