Plusnet ID: 20385249

Why has it thus far taken over 10 days for Plusnet to raise a MAC key on
this account?

The ticket ID above was raised today only because the customer wasn't aware
such could be done via the web site until I spoke with them, but they have
called Plusnet on several occasions, only to be on hold for in excess of 30
minutes thereafter they gave up and rang off.

Eventually (after an approx wait of an hour on one call) they spoke to a CS
agent who informed them they would be required to pay a £47 release fee
(deferred activation?) which they are happy to do, and said so. Nothing then
heard, and after repeated calls to which again there was no answer, they
wrote a letter which was sent (and arrived) via recorded delivery. This
letter was sent about a week ago, and no-one from Plusnet has done anything
about it.

Yet another public posting about Plusnet, for which i make no apology, but
why does it take a public 'flogging' to (hopefully) get anything done by
that lot?

To get your MAC you need to raise a ticket, but even then they appear
to be using every excuse to stall the issuing of the required MAC code

I'm hardly surprised, tbh.

Hardly surprisingly, I can now report the MAC key has been forthcoming.

*sigh*

lucky you, still waiting they suggested it would be today but have
just bounced the request to another dept, most probably get a couple
of calls to try & change my mind now, hopefully I won't swear at them
if they do...

I ended up in the Help and Support section entitled:
Move to Another Broadband Provider (ISP)

I answered all the questions about phone numbers and ISPs.

Then I added this to the 'additional info' field:
"I would like a MAC Key please, so that I can change ISP, as soon as
possible.
"I have been unhappy with the quality of PlusNet's service for a long
time now, and I've had enough. Please don't waste your time trying to
convince me otherwise, my mind is made up.
"Phone: 0XXXX-XXXXXX"

They didn't call, and I got the MAC the following afternoon.

When I asked last Sunday I was informed that they couldn't give me a
MAC as they were to busy taking money out of my account but it would
be looked at on Thursday.

All they did on Thursday was bounce it from one department to another
& it's now Friday evening.....nothing, nada, not a sign.

Oh yes during this time I've had 2 days without Usenet access due to
(supposedly) one hard drive on the server going down & the back up
server not working either & have now found that someone is forging my
mailbox account to send spam which is being bounced by all & sundry.
Seeing as they aren't using the names of the 2 accounts I do run why
aren't PN blocking them on the bounce?...

Deffinitely not a happy chappy & I do hope that they don't phone as I
normally don't swear & cuss at unknown people but I wouldn't be able
to help myself in this situation.
