I've noticed a huge increase in spam to my Plusnet email addresses in
the past few days - anyone else notice this too?

Have Plusnet been flogging their customers email addresses to spammers
again?

All it takes is YOUR adreess on A.N.Others computer that gets a scan
done on it by an address harvester and you are on the global map of
cunts whose mailboxes get filled by utter junk.

Ive got one account that probably only 20 people actually know exists.
It gets spam. Someone got trawled...

You can't spell.

And I do believe it. It's not just dictionary attacks (which take out
catch-all domain email) but one's own friends who are cluelessly getting
compromised.

I've had to undo much harm on more than one 'client' machine. For
'client' read friend and friend thereof...

Not extra spam as such, but I have noticed thousands of "blowbacks" from
spammers using faked addresses at my domain, the bounces all reach my
catchall address, but they're easy enough to filter, unfortunately it's
just one of those things, not Plusnet's fault.

That's nothing, I've got one I only recently set up that *nobody* knows
exists yet. It still gets spam. Not much, maybe one or two a week, but
spam just the same.

No.
Since they introduced the Postini spam-filtering system a few weeks back,
spam is now insignificant here.
(There are a few false positives at the moment though).
You are signed up to Postini, aren't you?

George

Give it a rest Ivor every time you touch the keyboard you have to type
the word spam or spammers

Why are you replying to me and not the other three people in this
thread..? If I were paranoid I'd suspect victimisation, but as it's you I
know it's just your stupidity.
