I was on Plusnet but left last month.

Speeds were slow and Usenet was a waste of time due to throttling.
They have no capacity, basically they have too many people downloading for
longer and they failed to pre-empt this by getting extra bandwidth.
Things won't be any better until they get rid of Ellacoya.

They've just ordered an additional pipe - due in March.

About half that number, according to some calculations I saw today.

Which would take their capacity back to where it was a year ago.

Yes, I had similar problems until I left them last year. Looks as
though nothing much has improved. You know what to do.

The next one I went to was Nildram, which gave good service. Later I
changed to Orange, because they offer broadband at a very low price if
you already have one of their contract mobile phones. Technical advice
is a bit haphazard, but the service itself is performing very well,
with a free VOIP phone service thrown in, and they provide the box as
well. People say Zen is good too.

Rod.
