pls improve my peer to peersetup

currently i have an xp machine connected to broadband and three other
win98se connected via a hub ie peer to peer they access internet via a proxy

I have been told a much better system is ms exchange and terminal server and
probable a seperate server??

is there a guide what this means as I am a newbie to all this

It depends what you are trying to achieve. If internet access for your
XP and 98 machines is all you want then your setup should be fine.

MS Exchange is an email server. You will only want to use this if you
are implementing a wide email system with a few hundred email boxes.
Windows Terminal Server is used for remote 'virtual' logons to a private
network.

Without knowing what your aims are it's difficult to advise.

Better for what? That's several thousand pounds worth of hardware and
software. Can you justify spending that much?

If you really do have the sort of system that needs that much extra
hardware and software you probably need to hire someone to set it up and
teach you how to use it.

Agreed - you are looking at a small enterprise set up and you wouldn;t
want to do that yourself unless you are very experienced.
