Hi I have asked here before but I didn't get any ifo that would fix
the problem. Basically the problem is my wireless connection sometimes
works and sometimes it doesn't. I have a desktop with a MA111
usb-wireless card, and a tablet pc with built in wire technology. When
it works it works great, I can surf the web from my bed etc. But
sometimes it doesn't feel like working and it won't work.
From last time people said

> to a machine indicates that.

Even when it is not working, it says connection strength is strong,
but the pc can't seem to communicate.

The only cause I can see is that other people have a wireless
connection and that is fux0ring mine up. Is it possible? how can I fix
it?

Thanks.
P.S. if someone does fix it, I'll pay pal them some $$ as soon as I
remember my password or get a new account.

That only means that there is a good connection based on signal stength
between the wireless NIC in the computer and the wireless Access Point.
It doesn't mean that the computer can connect to the Internet. It's just
like you being in your car listening to the radio. The further you drive
away from the radio station the weaker the signal strength from the
station to the radio in your car gets, until there is no signal at all.

That's very possible and you'll need to find another channel that is not
being used a lot by everyone else, or if you're using an XP O/S, then
you'll need to disable the Wireless Zero Configuration service which is
making the wireless NIC in the computer seek out other wireless networks
in your area and trying to connect to them, dropping your connection.

If that fixes your problem, then you can have a COKE on me with the
money! <g>

When you have connectivity problems, can you still talk without problems
between the tablet PC and the desktop PC. Can you transmit files between
them. If yes, then the router is probably dropping the internet connection.
Some routers do that. Try to get the latest firmware and review the settings
that it is set to reconnect when dropping the connection. Does your ISP
disconnect you when you are idle? Ask your ISP to change that. If nothing
helps, you may try a different router.

If the problem is not the internet connection, but really the connection
between the machines, you may have interference problems (less likely). Try
using a different channel.

Hope this helps.

I would say your router is dropping the connection to the DSL modem. What if
you hook your PCs directly to the modem? If it works, it must be the router.
(I had the same problem for while and had to restart the router once a day -
since I moved it is better, works for over two weeks)
