ok im running a ftp server with a program called serv-u
and im using the mn-700 wireless G router. i believe
that my upload speed is being limited to 28KB and my
upload speed is supposed to be about 50KB. when i hook
the network up with a linksys router it gives me full
speed. im assuming its the port forwarding however i
already opened the ports needed and i made it the DMZ
host and it still is limited. what should i do? change
program? is there a prob that is known with the router
that i can fix? please get back to me asap. i will be
checking back alot. thanx in advance.

This newsgroup supports Microsoft's Broadband Networking hardware and
software, so you need to contact either the support section for the software
you're using or Linksys support.

http://linksysftp.org/

If that doesn't help you, I'm not quite sure what will.

ok mabye i should explain more. i mean that right now im
using the microsoft wireless G router and its limiting my
speed. im just saying that i know its the router because
when i had a linksys on there it worked at full speed but
now with the microsoft router connected instead of the
linksys im getting capped at about 28KB. the server is
hooked up via ethernet wire so its not a wireless issue.
its a issue with the router or router settings. please
help.

The problem is the microsoft router for sure. I've did
countless tests and for some strange reason the upload
speed has been throttled down..I hope they fix this
problem soon by a bios update. Good luck

ok this is for all that read this and are trying to host a ftp server with the microsoft mn-700 wireless-G router. M$ limits ur upload speed and download speed through port 21 for some odd reason. its real bull but all u have to do is on the ftp program change the port to something like 6000-7000. anyone between there should be good. and that port is unlimited and u have just bypassed another attempt by M$ to control more of the technical world.

Please contact the support section in your User's Guide and furnish them the
full documentation, including the part about Microsoft attempting to control
the technical world. I'm sure once you submit the proof, they'll take
action.
