Please help with strange network problem

From one day to another the network on a windows 98 machine
stopped working properly. The computer connects to internet
through a lan. Browsing the internet and intranet, kazaa,
skype all stopped working. Pinging by ip-number works, both
on lan and internet. Pinging by url only works via hosts
file. Still this doesn't help the browsing.

Might relate:
Ipconfig without options works normally. Ipconfig /all says
the option doesn't exists and shows the syntax (with the
/all option)

Solution Found: winsockfix
LSP/newdotnet (spyware) corrupted the register
