i have an issue that is beyond my ability, can anyone please help!!!!

i was using a bt voice router to connect my server to the internet, then a
seperate NIC (network hub) to connect the client pc to the server.

i needed to change because the bt router kept losing the connection. so i
put a belkin adsl router in its place (used this previous to bt voice router).

the problem i have is that the server can not access the router home page.
it can access the internet. because the server can not access the router
home page the routers dhcp can not assign IP addresses to the client pc's.

the client pc's can access the shared files on the server but can not access
the internet.

if i plug a client pc in to the belkin router, there is no problem accessing
the internet but no file sharing is possible. i have been onthe phone to
belkin and HP (server) but no one can help!!!

i am very tempted to lleave the server and set up a peer to peer network, i
only have 6 client pc. it seems more hassle than the benefits provided.

thanks in advance richard

"because the server can not access the router home page the routers dhcp can
not assign IP addresses to the client pc's"

Well, if you are still using a "seperate NIC (network hub) to connect the
client pc to the server", then your clients are not going to get an IP
address from the router no matter what you do with the home page. Are you
sure that you know the IP address of the router's home page? If not, try
resetting it and make sure that the server's NIC connected to the router has
a compatible IP.
