greetings!
i am using suse 9.3 as a router on my home network and it does it's job
well. everything seems to be functioning except for this problem:

one of the computers on this lan hosts a webserver. i have associated
the domain name with my isp issued ip and it all works fine from the
outside world. however, if i type in the domain name or even just the
ip address issued by my isp from any computer on the internal network,
i get nothing but an error page but if i type in the local ip address
of the web server, it comes up fine.

i followed all of the directions i was presented with from various
websites but i just cant seem to get around this issue. i can also vpn
into a computer i set up to accept vpn connections (all within the same
lan) but if i try to vpn in from the outside, no go.
i have opened the necessary protocols in the firewall and have
forwarded the required ports to the vpn box and again, it works fin
internally but wont work from outside and i made sure to open and
forward the protocols and ports in the "external zone", not internal,
so i don't know what could be going on to cause this blockage.

any ideas or suggestions are very much appreciated.

thanks!

AFAIK it's typical that You can not connect to the machine which is
redirected from ouside 2 Your lan using ouside IP. If You will use internal
IP it should work fine.
