Hei,

I succeeded in everything with my wireless network (sharing files,
internet,...). But now the desktop looses connection to the internet every
now and then (like it works for some minutes and then shuts off), while the
strength signal and my laptop are still wirelessly connected and working
well.

Some background info:

I am using XP Home on my desktop with SP2, and XP Pro on my Laptop with SP2.
Both computers are connected to a wireless network through a D-Link router
connected to an ADSL router. After setting up the whole thing, I configured
Personal Firewall with Norton to allow file sharing and things worked fine.
But now, I loose both internet and file sharing with an interval of some
minutes, and then it's up again.

Please help.

Start by changing the wireless channel from the default to something
else. Perhaps you have some interference from other wireless devices in
your house - portable phones, etc. Do this from the router's
configuration screen. You don't need to change anything on the
computers.
