i'm using Routing and remote access on my server to route the internet to my
internal network.
My ISP needs to ping me from time to time and they need to get a request.
now the problem is, altough i have my basic firewall disabled on my RRAS My
ISP can not ping me.
i tried clicking on all the checks for the "allow ICMP"
i tried enabling and disabling the basic firewall many times but still my
ISP can not get a request from me when they ping me.
what could the problem be?

thanks in advance

Assuming 192.168.6.2 is internal NIC and 10.140.173.66 is external NIC, you ISP should not be able to ping 192.168.6.2 (that is good and by design). However the ISP may be able to ping external NIC IP.

That's the wrong address to ping.

Assuming you do *NOT* have a broadband "router" between the Server and the
ISP, and that the server is directly connected to the Cable/DSL "modem"....
they should be pinging 10.140.173.66

Again, assuming you do *not* have a broadband "router" between the Server
and the ISP......
They should *first* try to ping 10.140.173.65 which is thier own router that
they own and operate,...
....then if it is successful they should attempt to ping your server's
address 10.140.173.66

This is an RFC Private Address.
It is not compatible with the Internet, the only reason the ISP should be
able to ping it is because it is part of their private system. No one else
on the Internet can ping it

If you *DO* have a broadband "router" between the Server and the ISP, then
they need to ping that External side IP# of the broadband device,...that is
the *only* thing that will be visible to them. The device needs to be
verified that is does not reject ICMP.

We need more information to help. Do you a router? Which IP they ping? Do you enable NAT?

man !
i don't know if i was clear in my question
the problem is that the ISP is not able to ping my external NIC, and i don't
know any
it is important for them to ping my external NIC, or they won't give me
internet
i know this is stupid, but this is their policy and i need to solve this

so any ideas ?????
