Since yesterday evening I'm unable to browse any web pages from home.
After the usual rebooting of systems and routers and equiement, still no
luck.

I tried the VPN connection to the office, to my surprise I connected to my
work and was able to collect email, access all servers and I was also able
to browse the web pages.

Can someone please explain how I can make a connection ok using VPN but
unable to browse the internet.(Supplier BT)

Many Thanks

Run Ad-Aware and see if that solves the problem.

VPNs are normally set up using IP not domain names, if you have a DNS
problem you would still be able to connect to your VPN & once on there
you could be using the DNS servers for the network you have logged
into...

I have Ad-ware & Spybot use at least once a week, ran a scan still have the
same issue.

Also tried access from another system, same issue.

I will see if it's a DNS issue

Thanks

Are you running behind a router? BT have just turned off some of their DNS
servers so if you have them hard coded into the router or statically
assigned to the PCs behind it then that'll be the problem.
When you connect to the VPN you will be issued with DNS servers for that
VPN which will be queried before the BT ones. Just make sure you have up to
date ones.
