Platinum Technolgy (for Networking?)

Unfortunately in my zeal to get rid of
spyware/adware/downloaded games I removed (via Add/Remove
programs in WIN 98) a program called "Platinum Technology
World-Wide Web" (dated October 1999?). This must have
something to do with networking because my home network
which worked prior to the removal, no longer works. Can
anyone please help?
