Update:

Network Status Update : PIPEX Network

Section: Network
Applies To: Xtreme users

REPORT:
An issue with a key network component at one of our ADSL sites may be
causing
traffic flow problems for some PIPEX Xtreme customers. This issue is most
likely to affect customers with an @xtreme.pipex.net or @xtreme2.pipex.net
login.

SYMPTOMS:
Network traffic may be slower than usual and may be subject to occasional
interruption.

ACTIONS:
Network engineers are working on this issue. It may be necessary to degrade
service for emergency maintenance later this evening, but no customers
should
be disconnected from the Internet or lose connectivity entirely.

Our apologies for this issue and any inconvenience caused

One of the reasons I dropped Pipex in March this year after 2 years of
custom.

Always seemed to be "down" and never replyed to my emails. When I joined
them they were 1st class. Then they sold out

Same with me. Service always went down on a Saturday evening so you could be
without anything until Monday.

Strange isn't it? Maybe a consequence of Pipex's of the big-business
world, which doesn't work as much as the rest of us over the weekend.

But you might also add that when they want to pull the plug on
accounts, they have a habit of doing this on Friday too.

Due to a cock up at their end when I switched to ADSL, a cock up that
has just reared its head again with a huge bill for a service that I
told them to can 9 months go, they killed by Dial mailboxes on Friday
evening. You can imagine how easy it was to get it sorted out on
Saturday, when support seemed to be staffed by trainees.

When it works, though, it is fine. Just avoid any dealings with
support and accounts.
