Hi,

i am using the 512k Pipex Extreme service now since November. Until two
weeks ago it worked very well. Since then i have problems accessing two
of my most favourite websites: http://www.spiegel.de/ and
http://www.heise.de/ . All other websites that i visit are accessible.
Accessing these two sites from the computer at work (University) is no
problem. And there are no reports that these websites are down. I
already did a traceroute to theses websites and it seems that the signal
gets stuck at some point. I am using a DSL-504 as a router. Anyone else
out there using pipex with similar problems?

Andreas

My post yesterday plus a possible answer to your question
The problem we are having is when we go to certain websites we are getting
dns error messages.

At a guess you have your network addresses set to 192.x.y.z and subnet mask
255.0.0.0 so these sites beginning 192 look local. Change your subnet mask
to 255.255.255.0 and give it a try.

I changed my subnet mask from 255.255.255.0 now to 255.255.0.0 - and
suddenly the websites load again. I hope this change does not cause any
further problems. Thanks a lot!

I see them just fine here on the 1MB link.

I set my system to find whatever DNS it likes "From ISP".
