Pipex+Binary Newsgroups

Hi,
I have been using Pipex broadband for a few months now, still not sure if
I'm entirely happy with their service though.
My question is why is so difficult and slow to download messages from a
binary newsgroup using Pipex broadband, it was actually quicker using my old
BT dialup connection.

You are probably using the old server... try the new one

nntp.dsl.pipex.com

it is a GigaNews server

I am using nntp.dsl.pipex.com and it is still painfully slow, so slow it
gets timed out.
