As a pipex solo 500 customer, I went for the solo 1000 upgrade the other day
which costs £41 to regrade to, got a email today saying that I failed the
test for 1mb.
Now the question I want to ask is pipex have taken £41 off my credit card,
because the test failed will I get this back?

Cheers

Goodtimes

The best thing to do is ring and ask. But i'm sure that I read somewhere
that the money is not refundable once the the 1 meg upgrade has started,
this might be the cost of the administration.

Well considering the cost is called a "re-grade" fee, I haven't actually
re-graded so I cannot see how they can justify taking £40 from me when all
they have done is requested BT do a line check on my already installed ADSL
line.

I cannot ring now as their lines are closed, anyone else been down this
road?

Cheers

Goodtimes

You should get a refund.

As your line doesn't qualify for the 1MB service, BT won't have charged
Pipex anything - hence, Pipex should return the money.

Cheers mate, I hope so, just looked on their site and there's nothing
mentioning any fee if the test fails, It also says monies will only be taken
if the re-grade is successful, so I wonder why they have help themselves to
my credit card when my line hasn't even pass in the first place?

Goodtimes

You will get a refund.

Mine failed as I was too far away from the exchange (even tho my
router said the line was more than good enough) and my refund came
through on the card next day.
