Pinging problem

hey i have a DHCP setup done ( a DHCP server, DHCP client and a DHCP
relay agent)
my DHCP relay agent is a XP machine and have to nics on it one to the
normal network and the other is to relay.
i cant ping myself (ie neither the toRelay IP nor the normal network
IP)
also i cant ping this machine from any other machine!!!
the policyagent is not running
also i have tried disabling the NICs and again enabling them but of no
use!
i have also rebooted the machine!
please hepl me out with this problem

XP does not support the MS DHCP Relay Agent - you need an MS Server OS. If
you are using a third party product, you will have to consult its
documentation.
