I've run into this problem many times on PC's heavily
infected with Adware and Spyware. In this instance, I
used AdAware 6 to delete the 598 objects it found. After
deleting the items, I couldn't browse the internet. ( PC
using Network and Cable modem over Linksys.)

I could ping addresses on the internet with the IP
address, but the Donmain Name wouldn't resolve.

I uninstalled Networking and reinstalled it: didn't help.

I reinstalled Windows 98: didn't help.

I know I can do a clean install and fix the problem, but
I'm hoping someone out there has a solution to this that
is less time intensive.

Thanks
