i tried to ping my computer, but when i run
ipconfig /all, the window flashes quickly. How do I find
my ip address? thanks in advance

Run COMMAND first, then type IPCONFIG in the command window.

You could try winipcfg

CAN'T. get error msg "windows can't find 'winipcfg'".

If a "Find File" doesn't reveal a copy of winipcfg already on your
disk, you might be able to figure out which CAB file on the W98 CD
it's in and extract a copy.
