In order to move data (from a customer) to new servers I created a new
domain.
I created an trusted relation between the domains.
Form domain1 (Windows 2000 server sp4 DC) I can ping both the servername as
well as the fully qualified domain name of domain2 (Windows 2003 standard
edition DC)

Form domain2 I can ping the server name but I'm, unable to ping the fully
qualified domain name of domain1.

What can be the reason for this?

Hello André van der Hoeven,

How did you configure DNS on both domains for the trust?

Best regards

I didn't change anything on the DNS servers.

Hello André van der Hoeven,

On the Windows 2000 create a secondary zones pointing to the other domain.

On the Windows 2003 create a secondary, conditional forwarders or stub zone
to the other domain.
