Ping not returned

Hi

Only got TCP/IP installed on network with router that allocates IP
addresses.

One computer can't ping other machines, although can ping itself, but
can see the contents of folders shared on other machine. Consequently
cannot get onto the internet with IE.

Is there any solution bar reinstalling Windows 98?

Any help appreciated.

Turn off your firewalls while testing your pings.
