Hi all,

this not a question, but a guide to resolve a problem.

I have a small home network with one server (SuSE 8.2) and several
other computers. The server provides DDNS with bind9.

It seemed everything worked fine, but the ping with name took
a very long time to respond. There was no packet loss, however.
The ping with the IP responded immediately and worked perfect.

After all, I've discovered that the reverse name lookup didn't work.
To check whether it is working, you may try "dig -x <your IP-Address>".

Obviously, the missing reverse name lookup causes ping to get
stuck for some seconds.
