It certainly seems like a name resolution problem, but the entry in your
HOSTS file should have fixed that. Make sure that the name in the file is
typed exactly the same as the server's name.
On your PC, open a command prompt and type:
ipconfig /all
Does your machine get a DNS server entry for it's network card? What is it?
type:
ipconfig /displaydns
do you see an entry for your server? What is the entry?
