I am trying to ping websites in Windows 98 S.E. Everytime
I ping a site, even if the site is up and running with no
problems it tells me request timeout. This computer is on
dial-up. Can anyone tell me if a setting in Windows has
changed that would cause this. You can view all the sites
I have tried to ping in Internet Explorer. It seems that
when you try to ping the site it is not seeing them.

Hi William,

Many sites have disabled ICMP so you won't be able to ping them.

Thanks,
