When abuse reports are sent to (E-Mail Removed) why do you appear to do
nothing other than send an auto-responder message acknowledging
receipt?

Consequently, the abuse reporter is left none the wiser as to whether
plus.net have investigated / resolved the issue raised or simply
ignored/ binned the report.

Personally, Im left with the impression that plus.net has a cavalier
and apathetic approach to abuse reports!

That's not the case I cn assure you. Every abuse ticket is followed up
and the offending customer contacted where necessary.

If you raise a ticket on your account (and depending on the nature of
the abuse report of course), I can probably dig out the communication we
sent to the customer in question if you need that reassurance?

Kind Rgds,

Every abuse team on all the ISPs are virtually the same, keep kicking
the complaints in as they will take notice (some quicker than others).
The only time I've ever had a direct responce (not a auto one) was
when I reported pedeophilic behaviour of a certain ISPs user, in that
case they were very quick to react & I actually got a thank you for
reporting the person.

Thanks for the quick response Bob

I don't have an account with plusnet - I reported abuse by someone
using your network

How do I find out the abuse ticket number - the auto-responder receipt
message has no apparent unique identifier?

How would I go about obtaining details of your abuse department
communication sent to the customer?

Will the email you sent us be easy for me to find based on your Usenet
pseudonym do you think?

When was it sent?

Bob

If you send a direct-contact email address to the email address
associated with this posting, I will forward to you a copy of the
original abuse report

Please don't encourage Net Nannys or you'll make a rod for your own
backs.

Treat them with the contempt they obviously deserve and just pretend
you have done something. After a dozen times or so they get the
message.
