I deal with mostly smaller networks 254 host on a single network and smaller.
I know there is custom subnetting but i am not sure about something.

Can 1 physical network have more then 254 host?
example:
192.168.1-254 -192.168.2.254 =512 computers not seperated by a
router/switch?
so 192.168.1.60 can ping 192.168.2.56 and just use broadcast not a router
passing it to 192.168.2.56?

if this is possible then what kind of a DHCP server would do this? Would
this be a superscope within windows server 2003 dhcp?

hi,
you have to deal with network mask.
to have 192.168.1.0 and 192.168.2.0 in the same network the network mask
should be 255.255.252.0 wich also include 192.168.0.0 and 192.168.3.0 networks
