Related to the Chicken Coop?

Just taken a quick look at their website.
<http://www.thephone.coop/>

If you are comfortable with that, the rest of the operation looks pretty
professional and should be well supported. FWIW the consumers
association speaks highly of them as well.

"Switch to The Phone Co-op and 7% of whatever you spend on telephone
calls, broadband or web hosting will go to help fund the Labour Party."

If you are not comfortable with the Labour Party, there are plenty of
other providers who will do better AND worse. For instance, murdoch's
Sky company is 'carbon neutral' and do broadband....

Sorry, if someone was supping coffee and now has a messy screen /
keyboard to clean....

And all the profits from Waitrose broadband go to charity, which is even
better.

Where does it say that 7% of profits go to the Labour Party?

They run several affinity schemes, if you sign up via one of those 6%
got to the chosen partner, the Labour party is on the list. I couldn't
find whether they have a "default" partner if none is nominated.

I think you start off on your chosen affinity partner's website and then
click through to the phone.coop.

It is therefore your choice if you want a percentage of your spending to go
to a particular organisation.

Their Annual Report and Accounts makes no mention of paying automatically to
a political party.

Yup. Sorry if I misled anyone. Google found me the following page and I
read it a bit too literally. You indeed have a choice :-)

If you can't find any reviews of 'The Phone Coop', then you might want to
search for reviews of Telecomplete.

Avoid.
