Phantom PPP adapters

Hello all,

I'm pretty much an SBS guy, but I have recently taken over a network with
Win2003 Enterprise server as the only AD server in the domain. I noticed
that a workstation was improperly resolving the IP address of the server. I
found that the system has two phantom PPP adapters which are registering
themselves in DNS. The workstation was getting the IP address of the PPP
adapter from DNS (which was on a totally diferent subnet)

I found MSKB 289735 and 292822 that deals with DNS and preventing the PPP
adapters from registering themselves, but I was wondering how to properly
get rid of the PPP adapters.

The adapters do not show up in the network connections folder, but do show
up with ipconfig. The RRAS console reports that it's off-line and that RRAS
has not been configured. So where did these adapters come from, and how do
I remove them?

Thanks,

Buddy G ~
