pc's through 2 dividing walls (4" concrete blocks, plastered both
sides). Needs to be one of those combined router/firewall/4 port
switch/access point jobbies.

Or you might consider using ethernet connection via the mains to
the other room. www.solwise.co.uk sells a router with this built in,
and the 14 Mbps adaptor for the other room is about 25 pounds.

I'd simply skip the wireless bit and use something like a Devolo DLAN
adaptor and take it through the mains wiring. Put an access point on
each/either/neither end if you require wireless and job done.

Really not worth buggering about with wireless through that amount of
concrete in the same house. Wire it - one way or another
