- about 12 different motherboards all Intel Chipsets except one SiS based
- about the same number of variations of Intel 100 NICs, and a RealTekRT8139
(add-on and onboard)
- NIC could be in any of up to three different PCI slots on each motherboard

A common W98se ghost image used on all platform combinations, works fine,
redetecting all hardware and loading all drivers, including all of the
possible different NICs.

I want to permanently disable the ability for Windows to `turn off this
device to save power' for any possible NICs. I want those NICs to never be
able to turn off.

On a newly ghosted platform, Windows enables this feature for that newly
discovered NIC by default. Manually changing this check box after ghosting
is not an option. I'm looking for a registry option that will permanently
disallow Windows enabling this checkbox.

This must be done without affecting any other power management features.

Can it be done?
