I was told I could mount an antena inside a pelicoan box outside in the weather
to protect it. What is a pelican box and were can I get one?

Have you tried "Pelican Box" in Google?

http://www.opticsplanet.net/pelican-box-1200.html

I bet there are other types of weather proof boxes you could use too...

Why not house your wireless device in the box with the antenna on it, it
would probably perform better if the antenna was outside the box anyways..

Sorry I did not respond to your question around the 14th!

www.Pelican.com makes plastic cases that are water proof. They are normally
used to transport
delicate electronic test gear but remove the foam padding and you have a
great little box for your
access point or wireless router.

Many electronic, tool, or luggage retailers carry these cases.
