1. Backup data from your PDC.
2. Promote existing BDC to become a new PDC.
3. Take old PDC off line and never connect it again to the same network
4. Install Win NT 4.0 Srv as a BDC on the new hardware.
5. Promote this new_hardware BDC to become PDC.
6. Upgrade Win NT 4.0 to Win 2000, or better still Win Srv 2003.
